STAFF !
The health of food handling staff is an important factor, which we
can not neglect easily. These points should be kept in mind :
During the recruitment of the staff (food handler or other employee)
a detailed medical check-up is to be conducted by a professional
medical practitioner (MBBS) to rule out any underlying disease.
Vaccination against enteric
group of diseases shall be
decided according to the list
as declared by the municipal
corporation of the area.
Medical check-up should be
conducted at least once in 12
months.
Any food handler suffering
from illness must report to the
management.
Food handlers suffering from
illness (such as that of nose, throat, skin, stomach, bowel or any
infected wound) must be excluded from food handling until they
have fully recovered.
Food establishments must be equipped with sanitary
accommodations i.e. WC and urinals along with sanitary bins.
Meals provided to the employees while on duty should be
served in a separate room.
Restrooms and lockers as provided to the employees should be
kept clean.
Training of staff on basic food handling must be done after the
